BLAW 200 is an introduction to the legal environment of business with particular emphasis on contracts, agency, partnership, corporations, Uniform Commercial Code, government regulation, and ethics.
Aloha, I’m Ben Carroll. I’m one of the instructors here at Kapi`olani Community College for Business Law 200, also called BLAW 200. This is the legal environment of business. Of course the legal environment of business is the legal environment for everybody so regardless whether you’re going into that field, this course should be of interest to you. So what do we cover? Well, the law affects you every single day so if you write a check, if you bump into somebody’s car, if you want to start a business, rent an apartment, any of those things you’re going to be covered by the law. So this may be of interest to you if you’re going into an accounting profession, legal or paralegal profession. It’s also going to be of interest to you in your daily life to keep out of trouble. Sometimes you’re going to want to see a lawyer ahead of time so you won’t have to see a lawyer later on. In any case, I think you’re going to find this interesting and useful and so I want to invite you to come and take the Legal Environment of Business, BLAW 200. Aloha!
