This course teaches the student how to do recordkeeping for a small business using QuickBooks. Learn how to set up and maintain company records, such as chart of accounts, vendors, invoicing, banking, and printing reports.

Hi, my name is Tim Kwock and I lecture a number of courses in the BLT Department. Today I will be sharing some information about ENT 150: Basic Accounting and Finance for Entrepreneurs. This course will focus on two areas: accounting and finance. The first section will focus on the fundamentals of preparing basic accounting reports through the use of QuickBooks software. The second section will focus on the essentials of corporate finance. We will cover elements including the overview of financial management, introduction on the financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements, capital budgeting, risk and return analysis, raising capital and the analysis of the cost of capital. The reports the will provide entrepreneurs quantitative basis for making key financial decisions in the initial years of the startup business. It is also one of the three entrepreneur courses that can earn you a certificate in entrepreneurship.
