LAW 181 Rights of the Disadvantaged (3)

Recommended Preparation: Credit in or qualification for ENG 100 or ESL 100.

This course provides an overview of the basic legal rights of the physically disabled, the mentally challenged, and the economically disadvantaged. Existing governmental programs at the federal, state, and local levels will be analyzed to determine what benefits are available and in what areas the existing programs are inadequate. Applicable rights stemming from the Constitution, statutes, and regulations will also be explored.
